QUESTION:
Are my family problems a good fit for this program?

ANSWER:
We complete an initial assessment through forms we send to you the family to fill out. We accept most family dynamics such as marital conflict, effects of divorce, adoption, step children issues, parenting difficulties, sibling conflict, disruptive children, behavior and attitude problems, poor academic performance, anxiety, depression, addictions, infidelity, anger issues, neglect of family members, working too much, not having a sense of unity in the family, uncertain future together as a family, single parent related issues, stressed out, adult child(ren) still at home, other family members living in the same home, etc.

ANSWER:
There are issues that would exclude a family such as: ongoing domestic violence, active drug/alcohol dependence, active suicidal/homicidal thoughts and behaviors, active delusions or hallucinations. Basically anything that would send a person to prison or the psychiatric hospital would be out of our scope of practice. However, we do work with other short term programs such as a 28 day rehab as an aftercare for the family who has an ex-addict coming home. We work with the whole family to make the changes necessary to enable the person with the addiction to maintain sobriety.

QUESTION:
Our family has a person with a disability. Can we still attend?

ANSWER:
Our facilities are handicap accessible, however severe disabilities should be discussed on an individual basis.

QUESTION:
Is there any sort of scholarship fund available to assist families struggling with finances?

ANSWER:
Currently, Deep Rivers Family Ranch does have a scholarship fund available, however the process for creating one is in progress.

QUESTION:
Is the program in Colorado?

ANSWER:
Yes the office and location are in western Colorado; The Ranch location is approximately 35-40 minutes from the Grand Junction airport; 5 hours from the Denver International Airport and 5 ½ hours from Salt Lake City International Airport

QUESTION:
Is the family therapy retreat held year round?

ANSWER:
Yes, we have 3-6 day sessions year-round, however there are fewer sessions scheduled in the winter months.
